The 22 July Center has an important societal role as custodian of our collective memory of the 2011 terrorist attack on the Government Quarter and Utøya.
At Halogen, we are proud to have contributed to the center's important work in conveying knowledge, as well as fostering reflection and awareness around difficult topics such as xenophobia, terrorism, and critical evaluation of sources..
Involvement was key
In our work to develop the digital platform, it was clear to us from the beginning that we needed to involve young voices in the process.
Therefore, we facilitated multiple workshops with students from various school years. We used these insights to develop concepts for the most challenging topics, including what requirements it would place on technology and the solution.
It was important for us not only to present facts but also to provide insight into the confusion, chaos, and fear that gripped society and everyone involved on 22 July 2011.
"Halogen demonstrated an ability to quickly understand the difficult subject matter and facilitated co-creation and involvement with us throughout the process. The experience was orderly, dignified, engaging, and most importantly, educational."

A dignified digital presentation
For educational purposes, we created concepts that support and guide teachers in addressing these topics. We also worked on easy to adapt, ready-made lesson plans.
In addition to concept development, we outlined the necessary functional requirements for the centre's digital platform. This was to ensure that communication to the public was consistent, dignified, and educational.
"Halogen was responsive, collaborative, inclusive, and made excellent choices based on their expertise in the requested deliverables. Highly recommended."
