Society for all
The built environments around us shape our lives. As individuals, and as a community. That is why at Halogen we see urban and place development as societal development.
We are convinced that the complex challenges faced by communities require us to rethink physical surroundings, city life, and neighborhoods. This is how we can create meaningful environments that counteract exclusion, transform good sustainability intentions into opportunities in people's everyday lives, and make society resilient to new threats.
The processes surrounding urban and place development are complex. Many considerations must be taken into account, and a range of disciplines must come together. At the same time, authorities, neighborhoods, and other stakeholders are constantly raising the requirements for what development should contribute to.
To meet this complexity, Halogen works with urban and place development from a systemic perspective. Our designers combine methodology from various disciplines with up-to-date, research-based domain knowledge. Our approach is not to analyse our way to a definitive answer, but to equip decision-makers to make holistic and forward-thinking choices.
We gather and engage stakeholders, find common interests, and lay the foundation for new alliances. We ensure participation from residents and local communities. We experiment and explore, challenge established mindsets, and create holistic concepts and future visions that we can believe in and aspire to.
